Something that makes our training unique is that we cater to a variety of needs and offer two distinct breathwork training pathways, both of which can be completed fully online or with an optional in-person segment.

Both training pathways are led by Unity Breathwork founder Megan, however, the curriculum and certification is provided through the international Breathwork Training school Make Some Breathing Space. This can be confusing for some people, so for clarity, you can think of Breathing Space as the University or training institution and Megan as the professor, mentor, or course leader.

unity breathwork founder, facilitating breathwork session

Megan has extensive training and experience in breathwork, holistic healing, trauma, and wellness writing. Her breathwork background includes certifications from two leading international breathwork schools, 7 years of hands-on facilitation experience, as well as a wealth of knowledge acquired from writing for 6 other international breathwork training schools over the years.

The Apprenticeship Breathwork Training Pathway allows you to start anytime and to move through the curriculum on your own schedule, with one-on-one support sessions with Megan scheduled at your convenience throughout the training. The Group Breathwork Facilitator Training Pathway covers the same comprehensive, trauma-informed curriculum, but in a supportive group setting with Megan as your teacher and the addition of a personal mentor as well.

The program places a major focus on the inner journey, and is designed to be flexible. You will complete it in 8-12 months time and experience plenty of hands-on practice through practicums. You can also learn at your own pace, as a significant portion can be done on your own schedule.

Both pathways lead to the same place – you becoming a skilled, intuitive, knowledgable, confident, and inspiring breathwork facilitator. And regardless of which one you choose, you will go through the same comprehensive 400-hour curriculum and receive the same Breathwork Facilitator Certification. We highly encourage you participate in the one-week in-person training segment held twice a year in stunning Sayulita, Mexico. However, if you are unable to attend, you can complete the certification entirely online.

Both Breathwork Training options also include a monthly online masterclass with Breathing Space owner and facilitator – Benedict and continued support after graduation. As well as access to our supportive international community of Breathwork Facilitator students and graduates through Slack.

This global community will be a huge asset during your training. It provides an opportunity to practice facilitating and being facilitated by other trainees. This is especially beneficial if you choose the apprenticeship pathway and do not have classmates. It will also be incredibly useful when fulfilling your graduation requirements of both offering and receiving group and one-on-one breathwork sessions.

Finally, there are 5 weekly free online breathwork journeys offered by Make Some Breathing Space you can attend, which will make fulfilling you training requirement of partaking in a weekly breathwork incredibly easy. And there is a massive learning library of recorded breathwork sessions and master classes with every theme you can think of. This learning library is available even after graduating and is an incredible resource that can be used for inspiration and continued learning.

How Embarking on A Breathwork Facilitator Training with Megan, Will Become Your Biggest Asset as a Facilitator

Gain Access to an Unsurpassed Breathwork & Holistic Healing Knowledge-Bank

unity breathwork training school founder, megan

Conscious, Connected Breathwork has been so incredibly transformative and healing in my life that I have now made it my life’s purpose to share the magic of the breath with as many people around the world as possible. As a part of that mission, I have studied with two internationally leading Breathwork Facilitator Training schools.

I live and breathe (literally & figuratively) Breathwork! When I’m not facilitating sessions online and around the world, I am teaching or leading breathwork retreats, or researching and writing about it. I’ve also been a professional wellness writer for 15 years and have gained a wealth of knowledge pertaining to mental health, disease, holistic healing, and trauma in that time.

For five years after becoming certified as a Breathwork Facilitator, I wrote exclusively for international Breathwork Facilitator Training schools including Neurodynamic Breathwork, Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release Institute, Breath Masters, Owaken Breathwork, Alchemy of Breath, The Buteyko Breathing Clinic, and Oxygen Advantage. I’m sharing this only because each school taught me so much, and my depth of knowledge in the Breathwork realm is incredibly robust! I am generous with my knowledge and love nothing more than sharing my hands-on and research-based learnings with others. When you graduate, you will have a depth of knowledge and know-how that far surpasses most other facilitators around the world as well!

I Will Support & Coach You Every Step of the Way

As your mentor and instructor, my goal will be to help you confront your fears and embrace your full potential. I’ll be there to support, uplift, and encourage you throughout this journey. I believe that everyone has unique talents and life experiences that make them capable of offering Breathwork in their own distinctive and powerful manner. I will inspire you to incorporate your personality, experiences, and acquired skills into your Breathwork practice. Together, we will transform your biggest challenges into your greatest strengths!

I Will Teach You How to Market Your Breathwork Offerings & Create a Successful Healing Practice

Did you know that most certified breathwork facilitators are not actively practicing? Many lack confidence due to rushed or incomplete training, leaving them feeling unprepared to safely and effectively guide others through the profound healing that breathwork offers. Even those who undergo comprehensive training often struggle to make breathwork their primary career because most programs do not adequately cover how to market their services. This makes it challenging to attract clients and build a sustainable business.

Breathwork facilitation is profound and powerful work, and the world needs more skilled facilitators. However, if qualified individuals can’t sustain their practice, the benefits of their work remain unrealized. Learning how to effectively market your breathwork practice is not just a benefit to you but also to all those who will gain from your guidance. With 15 years of experience as a professional wellness writer and SEO-certified expert, I will equip you with the tools to make your practice successful!

I’m the Breathwork Facilitator Mentor for You, If You’d Like to Learn from Someone With:

  • A grounded, compassionate, and intuitive approach that resonates with people from various walks of life
  • Years of hands-on experience in facilitating breathwork around the world
  • Extensive knowledge in the breathwork and healing realms
  • A deep understanding of trauma recovery, mental health, and the science of breath
  • An unwavering belief in your unique abilities and inner strength. I will be your life coach and help you navigate fears, doubts, and roadblocks, empowering you to become a radiant and confident trauma-informed Breathwork facilitator.
  • A sense of humor—healing doesn’t always have to be serious. Making your clients laugh can quickly make them feel safe and at ease. I believe learning should be interactive and enjoyable, and I will ensure our seminars are something you look forward to each week!

A Sneak Peak at the Breathing Space Breathwork Facilitator Training Curriculum

Unit One:

Breathwork Essentials: This part of the unit equips trainees with the necessary skills and resources to create and safely conduct breathwork sessions. The content is delivered through our online learning platform and our live seminar meetings (either 1:1 for the apprenticeship, or in a group). By the end of this segment, trainees will have a comprehensive knowledge base that exceeds that of many facilitators worldwide.

Bodies of Breathwork: This section examines different stages of the breathwork journey and their impacts. We begin with the physical body, focusing on the Anatomy & Physiology of the Breath. Next, we delve into the emotional body, exploring trauma and the role of breathworkers. Finally, we address the subtle body, integrating breathwork with creativity and spirituality.

Advanced Facilitation Skills: This unit covers advanced facilitation techniques, including voice, touch, and transmission. Additionally, trainees will learn how to financially support themselves and build a breathwork business. For those in the hybrid training, this unit includes a 7-day intensive and experiential in-person training retreat in Sayulita, Mexico.

Unit Two: Home Exploration

Book Reports & Graduation Project: Trainees must choose and read three books from an extensive reading list and submit reports on them. They must also complete a ‘graduation project,’ which could be a website, app, podcast, dissertation, or series of artwork, designed to advance their personal development.

Breathwork Practicums: To truly become a breathwork facilitator, practical experience is essential. Therefore, trainees must participate in weekly group breathwork sessions and receive five one-on-one breathwork sessions (available through Breathing Space). Additionally, they must facilitate at least five one-on-one breathworks and five group breathworks, accompanied by self-evaluation and participant feedback.

Personal Journey: To support others deeply, trainees must commit to continuous self-exploration and healing. Although not directly assessed, trainees are expected to maintain a regular breathwork practice and engage fully in the inner journey offered by our training.

Your Breathwork Facilitator Training Path, Your Choice

We offer four distinct Breathwork training pathways, each encompassing the same comprehensive 400-hour trauma-informed Breathing Space curriculum. This flexibility allows participants to choose the pathway that best suits their individual needs.

  1. Hybrid 1:1 Apprenticeship Breathwork Training Pathway: A personalized journey with individual guidance and 15 1:1 support sessions with your teacher Megan, completed on your own schedule. With this pathway, you can begin any time and have up to one year to complete the coursework and practicums. 2. Hybrid Group Breathwork Training Pathway: Learning in a group environment is a significant asset for most people. It fosters the formation of deep connections and provides peer support as individuals navigate the challenges of ‘the inner journey’ which is deeply emphasized in our training. It also promotes accountability and motivation, as participants are encouraged by the presence and progress of their peers. Plus it nourishes diverse perspectives and ideas, insightful discussions which lead to unique learning oppurtunities. Moreover, it provides a supportive environment where individuals can receive feedback, learn from each other’s experiences, practice holding space with each other, and build confidence through shared achievements.

What sets this group breathwork training apart is its combination of both online and in-person training segments. The online format is spread over 6-12 months, allowing ample time for absorbing and integrating your learnings, for practicing facilitation through practicums, and embarking on a profound inner journey that will shape you into an inspiring space holder — all while seamlessly fitting into your daily routine.

Towards the end of the program, a 7-day, in-person breathwork training segment enhances the experience with experiential learning. Here, you can refine your skills, practice supportive touch, participate in guided breathwork journeys led by peers, and gain hands-on experience facilitating breathwork sessions.

  3. | 4. Fully Online Breathwork Training: We understand that taking a week out of life to train in Mexico is not practical for everybody. And if you prefer training fully online we offer that option as well, for both the apprenticeship and the group breathwork training pathways. Even if you choose this route, you will always be welcome to join our training retreats in the future should your circumstances allow for it.
